As part of the BIAT program, ITA will be providing delegates complimentry travel, lodging, meals in Italy, and ground transport in Italy. Delegates may also extend their trips in Italy after the mission, and the ITA will cover the return airfare to the U.S.

Overview of Naples
Naples is the capital of Campania Region that ranks seventh among the Italian Regions in terms of GDP (more than 102 billion euros in 2016), the first considering only Southern Italy.
The leading sectors of Campanian economy are: aerospace/aeronautics (the Region contributes to 25% of national product), agriculture, shipbuilding, building, tourism, logistic/transport, pharmaceutical and manufacturing.
Campania’s exports amount to over 10 billion euros, up 3% from 2016; in 2017 it is the 5th Region in Italy for established startups (546) while Naples ranks 4th among Italian cities for active startups (261).
The Region hosts 3 Technology Parks (Città della Scienza, PST Salerno and Technapoli) and 8 incubators/accelerators for startups and implements programs to support innovation in the regional productive ecosystem through ministerial and community funding (POR FESR and POR ESF).
The main action plan is the "Piano Ricerca & Sviluppo e Innovazione” (R&D and Innovation Plan), which aims at creating an integrated, sustainable and competitive Regional Research and Innovation System, whose strategic objectives are:
• the promotion of innovation and technology transfer;
• the development of human capital;
